Restoring The Hope Of America

The Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC), the conservative forum if you will, for the Republican political party, has ended. The importance of this year's forum is rather interesting in what it is, rather than what it is not.

We were able to see in clear detail what awaits for the Republican party. And contrary to popular belief, the party is more energized and focused than much of what we have seen in the past.

I have been quite vocal about there being no differences to either side of the isle, and that has been proven out quite vividly these past few months starting with the general election for the presidency. Yes, I still maintain the election was rigged, most notably by election officials actually boasting they had voted several times for Obama. And with less than 300,000 votes average wins in 4 swing states the argument seems valid.

But I digress.

What we saw was that the conservative side of politics is shedding it's old white men image, and consequently it's old guard is truly being replaced with fresh faces, fresh ideas, and solutions that are real and viable. I would have thought to see more entrenched corners of the party at odds. It was refreshing that this was not evident, however different the approaches to the problems of the nation and the failure of this presidency.

I will point out here that I am a person who has lived through the Watts Riots, witnessed the slaying of Martin Luther King, JFK, RFK, and grew up when the civil rights movement was not hijacked for certain individuals to milk the cash cow so to speak. Can you hear me Al Sharpton? I am black, hispanic, two tribes of native americans and part irish.

I am the melting pot of America.

So when Obama took office, I thought here was a historical moment of important and jubilation, a black president. To say I am and continue to be disappointed is simplistic. Forget all the differing problems in general with the man, his pandering and his, and wife's, seeming need for entitlement. It is truly because he is a sorry excuse for president of any stripe.

But CPAC truly showed that the conservative side of things is not dead and buried as many have feared. Perfect? No, of course not. But the hope it holds for the future is not an empty promise. Whether young or old in years what was telling was the energy of youth that it held for all to see. And these are men and women of character and worth. Just look at a partial list:

  • Paul Ryan
  • Marco Rubio
  • Rand Paul
  • Mitt Romney
  • Bobby Jindal
And more....

So I feel that if we pray for our country, it's leaders, and hold to the line of conservatism, that God can, and hopefully will, restore this nation. This we should be doing everyday if we care how America moves forward as a nation, and as the innate blessing God has given us. But we must hold on, not loose focus or commitment in order for that to be the case.

If we stand for America then God can restore what has been lost, and more. God bless America!
