I was married twice, and divorced twice, all to the same woman over a period of 28 years. Unusual? Well yes, especially in this world today, where everyone seems to be looking for "greener pastures" all the time. But when you take a covenant to marry someone it is intended to be for a lifetime. But this world provides so very little to encourage one to "be one flesh" before God.
Many are the enticements to walk in sin, in compromise, and stand empty in the most sacred place of our hearts. That is why we must be wise as to those who speak into our lives, those who walk with us, on this journey called life.
But today it is interesting to note that my ex-wife and I are best friends, and it was her who rescued me in my time of trouble and need. Even though she was there for me, she is still but a friend, and each of us is looking to God to find the person who will walk with us as one flesh.
So what should one take away from this?
That some people are meant to touch your life deeply, and in that we must be wise as to HOW they touch our lives, asking always God how we should be yoked. Family, friends, acquaintances, and such, had the power to speak into our lives when we were children, but when grown we have the authority, to let someone into those places that we would otherwise shield from the world.
Some, who journey with us, are allowed into our lives just for God's specific reasons, some are meant to be for a lifetime, such as, friends, family, and God does send that ONE you are to cleave to for eternity as well. Man has tried, since the the beginning of creation, to know WHO is the one for their life, WHO is the other half that is share their life with us?
But do not seek answers to that question in world lost in perdition and strife, they have no answer to give, at least not one you would desire. We must go to the throne to receive the answer for our life. It is there that ALL answers for anything lies.
However we should be doing this for all things, the simple things in life, and the not so simple things, and then trust that we have heard. Much human hurt and agony of the mind, heart, and soul, could be averted when we ask the One who knows. As it is written in God's book: "You have not because you ask not."
Asking aloud, or silently in the heart, gives God the reins of control in our lives, wherein we can walk according to His purpose, and not fail in trying to walk all alone. So God stands there waiting for us to simply ask of Him anything, that we may receive from Him all the answers of life.
Especially the ONE God has yoked us with, eternally, according to His purposes for our lives.
Then when we know, walk in that love, cherish the other above allyour interests, your desires, and revel in the amazing gift that God has given you for your life. But also remember that no one else has the right to speak into your life, unless you let them.
And when you find that ONE, there is no one else in your life that is dearer, more precious than any treasures of the world, and the crowning jewel of your life. They speak into your life, as it is now BOTH of your lives intertwined as one. One flesh before the throne of God. Eternal in it's bonds.
A gift beyond measure.
That is the reason we search, and the reason why God answers. Only He has the right to speak into your life, with power and purpose. The only One that can give us what we desire, as long as we walk in His righteousness, as long as we have ears to hear, as long as we have eyes to see, and all with an understanding heart.
And it is then He can guide us, and give us all the good things for our lives, even each other. All according to His purpose, His power, and His plan for our lives. It is then when we have found that "other" we are made whole, in God, to stand as the one flesh. Then they too can speak into our life as well.
So we must understand that until then only let GOD should speak into your life.
And those close to you, that have YOUR best interests at heart, and have proven themselves worthy of that bond, the true friends that God has given. Then they can be a voice that you can hear, and understand that it is still the voice of God through them, if so be they walk in the light of His understanding, the truth of His knowledge, and are bound by His love.
In that, we can walk uprightly before God, secure in the knowledge that those who walk that road with as are indeed "friends" and are given by God. And in due course God will give us the ONE for our lives, if so be it His will for our lives.
And then we stand strong, knowing that God is in our relationships of friendship, fellow believers in faith, and most importantly, our relationships of love.
Praise be to God.
