COMMENTARY
A mind is a terrible thing to waste, unfortunately the Senator from Arizona, John Sidney McCain III (born August 29, 1936) is definitely wasting one. In his recent interview with The New Republic magazine, he stated that Fox News was, and is, "schizophrenic" on immigration, and the tea party is limiting what the Republican Party can accomplish in Congress. Take note of WHO and WHAT the magazine is:
The New Republic (TNR) is a liberal American magazine of commentary on politics and the arts published continuously since 1914. A weekly for most of its history, it is currently published twenty times per year with a circulation of approximately 50,000.So why is a so-called "conservative" Senator "kvetching" with a notable Liberal magazine? Well you first must understand that Mr. McCain is one of those "conservatives" that I was talking about in my previous article. One of those in full attack of other conservatives. Remember some of his more notable associations:
Joseph Isadore "Joe" Lieberman (born February 24, 1942) is a former United States Senator from Connecticut. A former member of the Democratic Party, he was the party's nominee for Vice President in the 2000 election. Currently an independent, he remains closely associated with the party. To understand what this really entails you must understand what a RINO is:
Republican In Name Only (RINO) is a pejorative term used by conservative members of the Republican Party of the United States to describe Republicans whose political views or actions they consider insufficiently conservative. The acronym RINO, emerging in the 1990s, is a charge used in campaigns by Republican conservatives against party moderates.Much has been made of McCain's selfless service in the Armed Services. I too applaud his service, but as the old song says "what have you done for me lately?" In this case we see a man who talks out of both sides of his mouth. And he chooses his venue for this kvetching with an eye to a particular audience. This then let's us know that it is deliberate and calculated.
Again, sound familiar?
So once again I must say: Our country is a sacred trust between us and our creator. This puts it squarely at war with those who seek our downfall, and the ability to pick over the choice pieces if we do fall. That is their agenda. The New Conservatism of which I speak, reinvigorates the nation, it's peoples, and the principles by which we live - and protects us from this very real threat. It is the answer.
Do not ever forget what the question is.
