"And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God. For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith. Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them." Mark 11:22-24 (KJV)Or in the Amplified:
"And Jesus, replying, said to them, Have faith in God [constantly]. Truly I tell you, whoever says to this mountain, Be lifted up and thrown into the sea! and does not doubt at all in his heart but believes that what he says will take place, it will be done for him. For this reason I am telling you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe (trust and be confident) that it is granted to you, and you will [get it]."I like the Amplified in this in that it makes a key point, when we have faith in God is should be 'constantly'. This makes the distinction of having one prayer, or even many prayers, a moot point. Our faith in God should be a constant of our character, or in other words, it should be WHO and WHOSE we are. This is no small declaration, it is also how we can be in constant prayer (communing with the mind of God) with God as the Bible admonishes us.
And remember that "the effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much." Why is that? WE only need to read the verses from Mark 11 to understand. If we want anything from God we need ask Him, believe so that we may receive. So IF we are righteous and IF we ask, then we are in the position to reieve of God anything we ask. Christ Jesus used the illustration of the mountain being cast into the sea to explain.
I know that some are of the seed faith principle, but here is the caveat with that. It is not the seed that produces, the planting so you may harvest, but rather the BELIEF that you will receive of God. THAT is the catalyst that makes it work. Again the reference to this is in Mark 11:24, and the example Christ gave of that fig tree. In the Amplified He even says that.
"For this reason I am telling you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe (trust and be confident) that it is granted to you, and you will [get it]."That is the WHY that makes the desired thing come to pass. Man makes things convoluted and different from what the Bible teaches, but Christ was clear on this point. And if you are walking in discipleship you need to study the Bible teachings of Christ AS WRITTEN and meditate on His Word. It will clarify many of the teachings out there that are not quite right.
There is one thing that can keep you from receiving, after all the other conditions are met, it is the ending statement that Christ Jesus said we are to end all prayer before the throne of God: let thy will be done! In true discipleship to Christ we are no longer our own, and the Bible confirms this when it states we are purchased by a price (1 Cor. 6:20 & 1 cor. 7:23). His will for our lives may not include many things, and being His by choice, He may withhold ANYTHING that He deems is NOT NEEDFUL in our lives.
This defines our prosperity in Christ and God the Father's will in how we traverse our Walk Of Faith.
