COMMENTARY
As you are grabbing your coffee this morning I want you to consider something, that is a freedom. Freedom is a God-given right, but as the axiom goes "it is not free". There is a cost involved, and it is a human cost. So take time to consider and appreciate the sacrifice of the American soldier, who daily put their lives on the line to keep us free. Without them we would be naked to a hostile world of hate, envy and murder.
This is not some "knee-jerk" reaction to some holiday (as the Fourth Of July has just passed), but rather a welling up of a heartfelt thanks to those "out there" keeping vigilante service to and for America.
To those who leave hearth and home to sequester in some foreign land, sometimes dying from attacks from opposing forces, and separated from those they love, all for love of family and country. And to those here who work tirelessly to support them with what they need to keep them safe, to facilitate the mission, and give them the things of home.
So when you think of them, know they are the "everyday heroes" that we sometimes don't see, though their sacrifice is very real. And remember the service they gave in places like:
- Afghanistan
- Iraq
- Kuwait
- Japan
- Korea
- France
- Africa
- China
- And many more....
They have traveled the globe to engage in the theater of war of their time. They have looked selflessly to a future of freedom, greatness and nobility for all. That service is free from politics, personal aggrandizement (personal greatness), of explicit thanks, or any kind of payment for such giving of body, heart, mind and soul. Truly theirs is a path blessed by God.
And as they are being attacked, realize that the greatest enemy they face is complacency of the American people who do not recognize the inherent value of what is given. It is transparent and freely given at no cost, therefor many do not acknowledge that service's value to their lives.
When you receive something of this value you need to remember to give back.
We are seeing the current administration's self centered service solely to itself, ignoring purposefully the military (and much more) at many levels. We as Americans can right this wrong on a personal basis, by the giving of our hearts and minds focused on what can be given for these warriors of light and purpose.
God bless America!
