The Profiling Of America

Understanding the underlying the right use of the principles of investigation will go a long way to understanding the problems inherent in the current methods. This is what people have a problem with, not the need for a secure America, but rather the possibility of corrupt abuse of those very methods use to secure us against our enemies, being used against us by a hostile and corrupt government.

And as the scandals and corruption of this administration are being slowly revealed, securing the nation by those methods under scrutiny right now, is not a "warm fuzzy" at the moment, for the nation or Obama.

There are several scandals concurrently playing out before, and again probably many more, but the one that is the center of attention right now is the NSA phone snooping. Many are those who are fine with the explanation of how it is currently being done, this information database gathering, and just want the security of what they say it is doing for us as a nation.

Let us be clear, it is doing none of those things.

Profiling, however, is about how to produce or present a history, description, or analysis of something: The magazine will profile the candidate in its next issue. Using a description, or foundation of what you seek, you can see how vastly more proficient that type of effort or research can garner results. Imagine if you needed to research through ALL candidates of ANYTHING to filter down to what you are truly looking for.

This is what the NSA leaks and bosses have claimed. However if you are looking for a terrorist, and possibly a terrorist cell group, then you should be profiling terrorists. Uncle Joe's tweet or phone call about his golf score is a non-starter UNLESS he is sharing his golf scores to Abdul who is part of the aforementioned terrorist cell group.

And as we have been told, it is not just origination and ending phone numbers, but the net and media files. Massive storage has been employed here, as text strings, phone numbers et al, do not require the storage that media files do. So forget what is being said about "no content" claims, media IS content.

In the past these methods were not used, indeed the capability was yet here, and we were kept safe through "profiling" our assailants, by where they went and who they talked to. This is what should be done today. You have a target, what is he or she doing, with whom are they doing it with, and who is in contact with whom. Uncle Joe's golf scores need not apply.

And with this corrupt administration, what will they DO with all that information anyway?
