Gun Control - Again

I, as others have said, am touched deeply by the Newtown shootings. And as the feckless politicos delve into more gun control, I can't help but to think about how this country would be without the right to bear arms.

We would simply be unable to stop government mandates that leave us without freedom, unable to protect ourselves from subjugation to unconstitutional laws, unable to protect our homes, family, and lives from intrusion and servitude, and freedom from those who seek to enslave us by and to the hapless whim of a corrupt government.

It is not gun control that can save us. Rather it is in making a stand to subverted corruption of character and intent. It is in seeking God's throne once again and walking in His will and truths. It is in finding a voice that is not shouted down by the unwashed, and unrepentant, masses who clamor for the fruits of prosperity, without any effort on their part. Or their seeking of evil intent openly, feverishly, in the town square.

In the aftermath of the horrific Newtown school massacre, Americans from all parts of the political spectrum agree that we need to pay more attention to mental health issues. Public death threats and incitements to violence must be taken seriously. The incendiary witch hunt against law-abiding, peaceful gun owners is neither noble nor effective. It’s just plain insane.

Over the past week, I’ve witnessed a disturbing outbreak of off-the-rails hatred towards gun owners and 2nd amendment groups. Whatever your views on guns, we can all agree: The Newtown, Conn., gunman was a monster who slaughtered his own mother, 5 heroic educators, and 20 angel-faced schoolchildren. He ignored laws against murder. He bypassed Connecticut’s strict gun control regulations and he circumvented the Sandy Hook Elementary School’s security measures. We must understand that our constitution is not this "living document" espoused by the very ones who seek power, wealth, and security on the backs of those they claim to serve. Whose only intent is to raise their standard in it's stead. Our constitution is the voice of freedom etched into the foundation and cornerstone of our nation, the basis for being an American.

We will not humble or debase ourselves before any man, nation, power, or mandate. We are free, and we will fight to remain such. In this we find the true fabric of our nation, and a calling to arms (such as is warranted) of our voice to be heard, our nation to be free, and future secured for our progeny.

Taking our guns does not establish freedom, but the right to bear arms does. And that is what is sought to be taken from us - freedom. This is America, and loud may that freedom reign.....
