The Devourer

"Be well balanced (temperate, sober of mind), be vigilant and cautious at all times; for that enemy of yours, the devil, roams around like a lion roaring [in fierce hunger], seeking someone to seize upon and devour." 1 Peter 5:7-9 (Amplified)

We are at war, we are in a conflict that spans all of creation, and all of time. Many may feel that the call to arms is premature. They look upon the current time, and say among themselves, "not yet". Yet the Apostle Peter said the end of all things is upon us. "But the end and culmination of all things has now come near; keep sound minded and self-restrained and alert therefore for [the practice of] prayer." 1 Peter 4:7 (Amplifed)

We must look to God for guidance concerning all things, that our Walk Of Faith be not in vain. We must carry the cross that Christ gives to carry, that are His (Matthew 11:30). We must acknowledge what we see for what it is. We have more information than we need to tell us the end of the age is upon us. 
  
The places, things, and desires of the World, are authored by one who wishes to kill all mankind. It matters not to him if they are his, he wishs that all may die. Ponder this when you are out shopping, playing golf, or taking junior to the soccer field. Is this all there is? And do we settle for the smaller portion? 
  
Walking with God in adoption, brings the power of the maker of all things, directly into our lives. We can petition of Him the good things of life that are truly good. We become part of the answer, we are slated by God to be His emissaries here on earth. To carry His seed and grow, to bloom, and be as our Father. 
  
Do these things seem out of reach? Does heaven's door stand closed as we pursue the riches of the world, and seek our own? We need to stand upon the rock of Christ, the cornerstone of our faith and the framer of all creation. Why stand down, when we can stand up as the light upon the mountain top? 
  
We have an inheritance that brings into our lives, eternity. Such was the gift of Jesus. 
  
Success does not lie in "positive thinking" or "meditation" and other things which seek to dilute our faith. Success lies in discipling ourselves to Christ, in truth. To walk uprightly, facing the battle of life and winning! We have many tools of faith, with which we can stand victorious in Christ Jesus, our Lord. 
  
We must enter the fray with these tools of life: love, kindness, peace, exuberant joy, kindness, humility, and others. We are not left defenseless. Let not our adversary dictate anything in our lives. We are of the light of Christ, and in that we will stand. 
  
So I enjoin (petition or plea) you to walk your Walk Of Faith, to take up the weapons of faith and be victorious. Stand with those of like mind, those of peace, and not dissension. If you stand upon the principles of faith and are running amok, and ridiculed, by other Christians, realize that they stand with the enemy of life, and shun the rock of truth in Christ. 
  
It is not about who we are, but rather whose we are.  

"Thus saith the LORD, thy Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel; I am the LORD thy God which teacheth thee to profit, which leadeth thee by the way that thou shouldest go. O that thou hadst hearkened to my commandments! then had thy peace been as a river, and thy righteousness as the waves of the sea" Isaiah 48:17&18 (KJV)

And with God you gain everything. 

This makes the rebellion more intense, for the adversary seeks your blessing, your portion with God, and the power of adoption. That is why he speaks the carnal man, that man can not please God (Romans 8:7). So he offers glass beads, of no worth or value, to mimic the things of God. He promises all, yet has nothing he can give. And in that, as in all things, give it to God. He can grant you life eternal, and the true treasure of heaven.
