Let's not forget it's not his fault,
it's the previous president's mess and he is just trying to clean it
up. And I have this bridge I'd like to sell you.
It is a telling point that his solution
to the economy grinding to a halt, is to take money from the 2% that
part of the solution. In this tax the rich scheme we must remember
that the rich of this country are the ones that are the glue that is
needed to fix this recession. It is those with wealth that will
revitalize the USA.
It is the heads of corporations, savvy
investors, and those who are the 2% that can create jobs, infuse
corporations with needed cash, that truly make a difference. And it
is grossly hypocritical that this president sits on the board of the
only authorized seller of carbon credits. A de facto monopoly. Even
to the point that much of what he does is backed by the billionaire
George Soros.
The small businesses will not be helped
by this either. It is the middle class businesses that get caught in
this monetary threshold as well. They may have that 250K magic
income, but add in the costs of insurance, equipment, and other small
business expenses that eat away at that income level. It makes being
successful in this economy a penalty, not a boon.
Robbing from Peter to pay Paul has
never worked.
"To take from one, because it is thought his own industry and that of his fathers has acquired too much, in order to spare to others, who, or whose fathers, have not exercised equal industry and skill, is to violate arbitrarily the first principle of association, the guarantee to everyone the free exercise of his industry and the fruits acquired by it." –Thomas Jefferson, letter to Joseph Milligan, 1816
The Boston Tea Party tells us many
things, it was a political protest by the Sons of Liberty in Boston,
a town in the British colony of Massachusetts, against the British
government and the monopolistic East India Company that controlled
all the tea imported into the colonies. On December 16, 1773, after
officials in Boston refused to return three shiploads of taxed tea to
Britain, a group of colonists boarded the ships and destroyed the tea
by throwing it into Boston Harbor.
We need to find our “tea” moment
once again. Not in protesting some foreign power, but in protest to
our own government. Looking to increase taxes gives us nothing but
more oppression and negates the idea of the pursuit of happiness.
Government intrusion in the private sector is illegal, either by the
constitution or empirical law.
So as Obama's quest for your money
comes around with an outstretched hand once again, think hard about
what you are really getting. Even panhandlers do the same.
