This is important because if the military controls the public at large, then all other rights will disappear. And rest assured, they would mos definitely disappear.
Think of it this way, drugs are illegal yet they still invade our culture. Making such illegal, just makes it more difficult to track, arrest the offenders, and impossible to regulate.
One of the most glaring problems is that regardless of their illegal status, drugs are still available to those who would illegally use them in our society. So too with any attempt to criminalize guns. Those who would abuse the mandate of such a law, not bear arms, would do so regardless if they were illegal or not."A well regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed." --Second Amendment
However the society as a whole would be at risk. This can be seen as creating victims, rather than protecting society. If we vote to criminalize guns, then we as a whole would be in danger of a oppressive, and overreaching government.
Who would be able to stop them? Listen to O'Rielly and some wise words indeed:
So I look to see what this administration will do on this issue. It is these type of cases, the shooting here in Aurora, Colorado, that would be used to press forward in stripping us of our right to bear arms. This is an issue that I ask, all people of faith, to pray on.
"Understanding who really uses guns here in America!" (Read it here)I don't ask that as a mere onlooker of events, but rather who has family and friends that live in the town that this happened in. I have not been able to reach them to see if they are alright. Regardless of such, I know that any person determined enough to shoot all those families, friends, and other fellow patrons of that movie theater, would have found a way to get a gun.
Between the U.N. treaty and liberals/democrats, there has been a push to take away our gun rights (I don't own a gun, in case you were wondering). Using the massacre here in Colorado as a prime example, they still miss the boat on this issue. But they really aren't trying to address an issue, they are trying to disembowel the public from carrying weapons in order to control the populace unfettered.
"American Second Amendment rights and U.S. foreign policy interests could be directly threatened by the latest wording of a United Nations draft treaty seeking control over international trade in conventional weapons." (Read it here)There are many conspiracy theories out there, and I don't ascribe to them. But I would caution about using a solitary act to give the government a foundation to violate our 2nd Amendment rights. There is nothing benign about our government, and their continued onslaught to create a police state. I think back to one of our flags in colonial times: Don't tread on me!
As the old adage goes "guns don't kill people, people do". Enough said,
God bless America.
